Welcome to 8th Grade Math and Online Learning...
Please see the letter below from our Principal Mrs. Jackson!
Dear Panther Parents,
We miss our kiddos!!! Please let them know that we are thinking about them and hoping everyone is staying safe and healthy. Our teachers are SO excited to start teaching again on Monday. They have been working really hard to provide solid, engaging lessons that are still simple to maneuver. Let’s take this slow and show patience and grace for one another as we figure this out together. We have also put some things in place to make life for you guys as easy and doable as possible. One of those things is that teachers are not going to be sending you tons of emails over the weekend or on Monday. That can get overwhelming! So here is what will happen: Monday morning, your kiddos will hop on Canvas, look at each subject, use their agenda planner to jot down notes for what is expected in each class, and then get to work. Let’s use this opportunity to empower our children to navigate this new world of learning. Your support and guidance is great, but let’s not do all the work for them. We will all grow and stretch from this adventure!
You will access most communication through CANVAS (active link embedded). Each teacher has an Instructional Plan on their home page of Canvas. There you will find everything you and your child needs to know for the week. Please encourage your child to login to Canvas this weekend so that Monday morning will be smooth sailing. If you would like to glance at the work that lies ahead for your kiddo, you can also access Canvas as an Observer (same login as your HAC acct). But don’t get ahead of yourself, the lessons will not be completely ready until MONDAY morning at 8:00 am. Please don’t go in early and then get frustrated when you don’t find what you need, links don’t work, etc. Below is a link to a one-pager that gives very simple instructions on how to use the Canvas site. Stay calm and Canvas on!
